Eagles guitarist, vocalist and founding member Glenn Frey died Jan 18 in the US at the age of 67, and it didn’t take long for Hollywood and the music community alike to voice their condolences on social media.
Figures from Steve Martin to Carole King mourned his death, which was due to complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia, said the band in a statement.
More tributes will undoubtedly continue to pour out as the news spreads.
Don Henley issued a statement about Frey, saying, “Glenn was the one who started it all. He was the spark plug, the man with the plan. He had an encyclopeadic knowledge of popular music and a work ethic that wouldn’t quit.” – Reuters
